If you're still in learning, i suggest to do the figure photoshot outdoor at noon / morning, because it's easier to get a good picture. It's hard to do photoshoot using mini studio setup, especially when you don't want to get a flat (using direct internal flash) picture and shadow in the background. Anyway, what kind of DSLR you got? The first thing to do after getting a DSLR is getting used to it, and learn about things like exposure, metering, aperture, shutter speed, and things related to that.

If you’re still in learning, i suggest to do the figure photoshot outdoor at noon / morning, because it’s easier to get a good picture.

It’s hard to do photoshoot using mini studio setup, especially when you don’t want to get a flat (using direct internal flash) picture and shadow in the background.
