Well, recently I’ve been really busy playing this new RTS. I mention it before that I forget everything and play this game hours on end. Well that game is Command and Conquer Red Alert 3. Long time huh, well, it’s an extremely long game too. Something new to the game is another available faction. In previous Red Alert games, there were 2 factions. The Allied forces and the Soviet forces. Now with the third game, there is a new faction which is called The Land Of the Rising Sun. Which is just by reading the title is Japan. The Japan faction is filled with mecha units and watching interviews with the creators that they had to research into many mecha anime and manga. One unit I have to say called the Sky/ Sea Wing was taken from the game Ikaruga. Hard to describe the game play as the game is an RTS. Just basically build a base, build units and destroy your opponents. Nothing to it.
Whats a Red Alert game without real cast of women to act out the characters. Lets see if you can tell which faction each woman is in.
Almost all the games in the Command and Conquer series all have real life actors acting the roles instead of CG cut scenes of some CG people. I think this approach is pretty entertaining. Also for Red Alert 3 they have some famous actors and people acting the roles of the people in it. Like the Emperor Yoshiro is portrayed by George Takei (The original Sulu from Star Trek), Premier Cherdenko portrayed by Tim Curry, Natasha Volkova portrayed by MMA fighter Gina Carano, and Command Warren Fuller portrayed by Current UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture. There are also many other actors, I just don’t want to list them all. There are just too many. This is acting is by far my favorite part of the game. Below are some videos of the acting and gameplay.
It’s too hard to explain why I love the Command and Conquer series, I just do. I say go try it out and play some of these games. Hours of gameplay there.
Also a week ago I got a new game. I was able to get my hands on the first print special edition of DJ Max Portable Clazziquai Edition. It’s one of two games that was released. Sadly the other game DJ Max Portable Black Square was pushed back, so I have to wait. I’m currently addicted to this game. I play it when I go to uni and when I’m out. At home I do play it as well, but Red Alert 3 came along. Anyways the game came with a limited edition wall scroll of one of the characters in the song First Kiss.
You can tell this wall scroll is from the game…the logo is on it…
I just love this wall scroll. The art is just wow!!! I want all four but having a hard time tracking down the other wall scrolls. I want them all!!!!!!
Well, if you want to know the gameplay of Dj Max, it’s basically like DDR, but on the PSP. There is a difference too,the notes you hit makes the sounds of the song you are playing and if you miss one, the song will sound weird. It’s on of those games that requires a huge amount of time to play and many times replaying the same song to unlock stuff. I so far have unlocked 29 songs out of 49 songs. I’m currently trying to master the different modes. Unlike DDR, there are different options in gmaeplay. There are 2 key (use 2 buttons), 4 key (use 4 buttons), 5 key (5 buttons), 6 key (6 buttons), 4 key FX (plus L and R ), 5 key FX (plus L and R ) and 6 key FX (plus L and R ). Each mode gets harder to play and there are normal style and hard style to each song. It’s basically getting use to playing and memorizing the song. This game requires a lot of reflexes of your fingers and see how fast your fingers to go. Here are some videos of people playing below. The songs may look easy but it isn’t. Trust me…
You can also customize where you play and the notes too. You’ll unlock a lot of stuff when times pass but requires a lot of play through. Songs are unlocked too over time and can be arranged from all sorts of different styles of music from club ot rock to pop. The background has a lot of animations like anime art style to cartoon style to real people singing and dancing. There are a lot of varity to the songs.
This game tests your finger speed and hand eye coronation. I’m struggling in 5 key right now. Practice makes perfect. If you get a PSP, this is a game that must be played. Sadly for now, it’s only out in Korea, China and Japan. The only option is getting it online. There is a DJ Max game that is coming out in North America in November. It’s called DJ Max Fever and is a combination with the first and second game. Well, I’ll see how that game is.
Time for me to play Red Alert 3 again!!!!!!

hearing the hell march sure brings back memories. and i see some familiar faces there. kelly hu. woah~
Hmm DJ Max looks pretty fun. I’ve never tried playing a DDR-style game with my fingers. But wow the videos in the background are very nice ^^. And so are the songs. I think I might need to go buy a PSP just for this.
Ahhh playing DJMAX Clazziquai edition too…although they removed some things like a preview of the song before you play it and the removal of having effectors from the beginning. Played a lot of the previous DJMAX Portable 2. I heard Black Square was cancelled or something…T=T”
Very nice. I should try Red Alert 3 sometime…
In the meantime, I’m actually working through Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne. Good game!
From the looks of it I see Tanya is back. I wonder what upgrades she get, after being able to one shot kill pretty much anything in Yuri’s Revenge.
I heard variable fighters from Macross series are in the game, the teasers actually said Macross. I’m checking the game out just for that, and hopefully gundams are in it too.
Gordon: This game has a huge cast of stars…Tim Curry in the game…I was pretty surprised…whats more finding the UFC Heavyweight Champ in the game too!!!
Kel: It’s a really fun game and I just love playing this game!!!
Akari: Black Square is just being pushed back a lot…not cancelled…
M12: WC3…old but good game…
GNdynames: She is back and as deadly as ever..,
Now that’s an awesome poster
I love games with comes with little goodies. It just makes it more worthwhile getting the game. ^^
Sadly I don’t play computer games anymore. Kinda over it to be honest. -_-
I got myself the game and started on the Soviet missions.
I really don’t like Natasha. Air strike on vehicles is retarded, I’d rather have Boris back as my commando unit (even though I just don’t like commando units in general).
To be perfectly honest, I don’t like the new cast neither. I prefer the RA2 guys over the new guys (although the first Japanese commander looks really cool). Well, my roommate disagrees, but I tend to ignore him.
I have the game myself. The game is ok so far, not living up to the hype they generated I believe. I just need to finish the Japan chapter then I finished playing the game.
Didn’t play this one but played the other game in the serie
will try it
