Toronto Otaku Blogger Meet!!!

Well, today was a bit of hard. First things first, I want to thanks everyone who attended the meet!!! I hope that there will be more in the near future!!! Today’s weather was insane I do have to say. It was snowing pretty bad today. Good thing I checked the weather network the night before as they say it’ll lighten up. Good thing it did…the bad side…I had to shove the driveway…argh… That took a while. So after all that I was able to go to the meet. When I arrived Litokid
was there waiting. Eternal then arrives after a few minutes and we all head up to Hot Pot King.

For people who doesn’t know what hot pot is, it’s basically you get a pot of hot water then you cook your raw food into it. As you can see in the picture, the table has some thin slices of raw meats and some hot dogs… Also to add some flavor to the food you eat, you make a sauce. The sauce can be be made from soy sauce to hot sauce and spices are availabl … all you do is dip your food into the sauce and eat it after the food is cooked.

We started eating and Saku arrives soon after…

At the end of the meet… A lot of food…and what a mess…

We went to the bowling area… A lot of people were there cause there was a tournament there earlier but at around 10PM it cleared up… We got ourselves one hour play. We can play as much as we can in an hour.

We all joked around when picking our names for bowling…

Cosmic bowling started…and it adds a fun element to bowling!!!

Mind the flash but those our names we used…you could guess which one I am…

More food after we ate…just great…

Our Epic fail… Still, Eternal has hidden talents in bowling. He won. We were able to play a bit for the second game. Around this time, I was in the zone and getting spares 5 times in a row…This was the time when Litokid was saying there is no justice in the world as he was losing…

At the end of the second game… I was so close on beating Saku…argh!!!!!!! I just had to screw up at the last bowl… Litokid was happy that he wasn’t last!!!

Well, we did the draw at the end of the meet. As Momo and Eternal won prizes. Momo won the Asakura Ryoko Figma and Eternal won a doujinshi from Comiket 74. Congrates on who won!!! We hope there will be more people who comes next time. More people, the better the prize.

It was a fun time we had. I hope there will be a lot more of these in the future. Next time, I have to plan with the weather in mind. If your in the Toronto area at the time of the meet, I suggest you should come. It’ll be good fun!!! I also plan that since this meet went pretty well, I plan to have it once every 2 months for now. If I can, every month and if possible, have one after every anime convention that happens in Toronto.

I miss hot pot. We have it at home 2 to 3 times every winter.

I once played with some friends a biiiiiiiig amount of bowling games since we sucked so much.In the end we had to pay a horrible price since it was paid per play and not hour :/

Hotpot is pretty similar to ShabuShabu well except for that you boil the food in soup instead of water and drink it afterwards.

I didnt know that there were prizes to be won!I bet it would have been fun even without them
