Christmas Season Photo Shoot #1
One the first day of christmas my parents gave to me an Alter Jordh figure!!! (Don’t take this line seriously…) I know, bad but then, goes with the theme. Well, lets start of the 5 days of Christmas figure shoots with Jordh by Alter. With this shoot, I finally get off the floor and put it on the table as it was a tight squeeze. I also finally used a tripod. Yes, all the other shoots you’ve seen before, I haven’t been using a tripod. Well, now I finally used a tripod and put it on my table, the shoot actually looks a lot better. Jordh is from Megachu!, unknown to my knowledge at the time, it’s a hentai anime (I just found out when typing this post). I just buy figures because they look good. I say, this figure does look good!!!
I bought this figure from one of my many trips to AnimeXtreme located in downtown Toronto. I got her around $60 I believe. Getting good figures from that store and I feel that AX is one of the best stores in Toronto to get figures. I haven’t been there for a while so I don’t know what they have in stock. I should go back there sometime before the break ends.
Well, practice makes perfect and I think I’m well on my way into making good pictures…
I do love this side of this figure…
She’s teasing us…
Is it me or are those oppai big…I mean really big…
Her hands are just perfectly done…
I say this is what I think stands out. The pink belt…out of a figure that is mostly white…and I do love how it looks too!!!
Tried my hand with props…I started simple. The cold look is pretty good, not the best around but still, first try and I hope to have more in the near future…
Alter Jordh Figure Review:
Alter once again does a great job on this figure. This is the second figure out Alters line of Megachu! figures. I feel so far this is the best out of the 3 in the series.Why I say that, the detail on the clothes are really something and two the pose is just…really nice!!!
This figure is really nice and done pretty well. From the clothes to the face, it’s really nice!!! Alter’s paint job is great as always and the sculpting work is just as great!!! The belt on the figure is just amazingly done. I feel the clothes on this figure is the main attraction point. It’s just something I keep staring at. The back of the figure, the two belt like strings are well done. Something else is the hands. The hands are nicely sculpted and just as nicely done as the whole figure.
The downside is with part of the hair. I didn’t like how Alter did the ponytail. Well, part of it. It just look like weird bump like texture. Also, it came with a light blue base. The only problem I had with the base is that there isn’t anythingto keep the figure on the base. Like one of those pegs on bases, but this one doesn’t have it. I would be happy if it did have it. Aside from those points, everything else looks good!!!
Overall, I give this figure by Alter an “A”. This figure is a good figure for anyone’s collection.
Other Thoughts:
This shoot I finally used the tripod that had been lying around since I got back from Japan. I just never thought it was a good idea to use it and I felt it was also so troublesome to bring it out. Well, I finally brought it out and did a shoot on the table and man, the changes are pretty good. No more backbreaking on the floor shoots for me!!! YAY!!!
Also, I think I’m getting the hang of doing these shoots and with the settings too. I hope future shoots will be even better!!! I feel that there is still room for improvements. I hope to improve and get the eye on how some other people out there got in doing shoots!!!
This shoot is also the figure shoot that has props. I started simple as currently I didn’t have any props at home at the moment and I just made something simple I found at the time. I need to go out and buy some. I plan to go out to buy some tomorrow and use it in my shoots. I just hope that the weather would good tomorrow for me to go out to buy some stuff.

Great that your parents support your hobbies. My parents are okay with the hobby but not supportive about it. They’d just say “your collection is growing…”.
Samejima: You do know that first line is a joke…it goes with the song…(Need to edit it some peopel don’t get mistaken…)…still, they do kind of support it…
Lol… hahahah.. I’ve been had.
I honesty thought ur parent’s bought u this figure until I read ur sentence in brackets of course.
An unknown figure to me so it’s a no but I have seen it at many online stores.
Good use of the tripod. I can definitely see some improvements when ur using it. Is the prop real snow by any chance?
Congrats on acquiring Jordh! Your photos make her so moe
~~~~
Adjust the saturation and constrast of your photos slightly and they would have been perfect!
PS: Would you mind adding my site to your blogroll? I will add yours shortly
not bad, I like the face/hair and the outfit is pretty interesting
Ohwow. You have nice parents. XD
i believe the saturation and contrast is okay but may need to tone the level a bit
Samejima: Read carefully next time…
Optic: Nope…if it was real snow…it would had melted by the time it came in the house… I used cotton…a lot of it…
Divine Fang: I’ve added you to my blogroll too!!!!! Also, I had Jordh for quite sometime…just didn’t do a shoot on her since I got it…
Persocom: Her outfit is awesome in my sense…
Kairu Ishimaru: I do…in a way…
Ron~: I think I should start using PS for make my photos look better…
Levels seem ok but the pictures are have to much light, using photoshop is a good idea but you can get confused with it because of the layers and stuff like that. You alraedy saw on my blog the difference after using Lightroom, that’s the program I recommend the most although many people like to use elements, I tried but didn’t get the hang of it so I stayed with Lightroom just to “treat” pictures.
My parents even like my figures but they’re concern that the collection keeps growing and space doesn’t XD that’s why after I get Hayate I’ll design my figure furniture and have it built
I feel like something’s not right with her face. Anyway, I like her clothes, she looks so sexy in that outfit.
Your pictures did turn out pretty,pretty good!
A Tripod is great isnt it?I didnt think that it would have such an impact until i tried it myself.
Her pose is fabulous!I love it!
Belela-san: I might use lightroom…in the near future… Yes, space…a ever growing problem in an otaku collection as it keeps growing…
Sonic_Ver2: It is sexy……isn’t it…
Blowfish: Tripods do help a lot…keeps them from getting blurred up!!!!!
