Christmas Season Photo Shoot #4

06 [pictureswhitebgv2]

On the fourth day of Chirstmas my ture love gave me a Kamikita Komari. We are almost to the end of the series for this year.I had problems with my lamp today. It still works, but the problem is that a part of it broke. So the only way to keep it up is using some tape and such supporting items. I hope to buy a new lamp before the year ends. Well, today’s figure is Kamikita Kamari from the Visual Novel called Little Buster. I do own the game and it’s pretty good but my main character went after Haruka Saigusa or Rin Natsume.

I obtain this Koto figure from one of my many trips to AnimeXtreme in downtown Toronto. I don’t exactly remember how much I got her for. I think it was for around $40 CAD. At AnimeXtreme it seems that Kotobukiya figures are cheap and at my early stages of collecting, I mostly bought Kotobukiya figures due to their price. Now I look at the figures before I buy them and look who made it too.

Something I don’t like about this figure is that lolipop won’t fit right on her hand…

Review of Kotobukiya Kamikita Komari:

This figure is a nice figure. Most of this figure avoided the Koto Shine which is that the paint that Kotobukiya uses a shiny paint which reflects from the lights. The clothes is really nicely done.Another good point is the face. It’s really kawaii!!!! I do like how they look. Another good point is the pose of the figure or how it is posed. The detail is pretty nice.

On the negative side is that the sculpted pose works, but the pose doesn’t really work well it the base. Even though I did say it avoided or try to avoid the Koto shine, there is still some. The Koto shine is only on the face. Something really frustrates me is how the lolipop doesn’t fit into the had. The box says that the candy is placed at the mouth area but it doesn’t seem to want to stay on. Something that bothers me is the face changing. I’m not too fond of face changing figures. As in the end, have to pick on which face to use and have to put the other face back into the box. This PVC is not a Figma which I don’t have a problem with since it’s sort of an action figure. The final bad point is the ribbon. Don’t get me wrong, the ribbon is nice but doesn’t really goes well since as it doesn’t reach the ground of the base and the detail shows that it reaches the ground.

It’s a good figure from Kotobukiya overall. I give it a rating of “B”. It’s a good figure and if you like Little Buster, it’s a good figure in you collection.

Other Thoughts:

The shoot went well today. I do think sometimes I should becareful on picking figures to match the background with.I should remind myself dark color figures would be a good match with white backgrounds. Sadly, I’m still testing my black background and many other colors. Lighting seems to be way off with other colors… If anyone has any lighting  tips on dealing with dark colors or anyother color other then white backgrounds please tell me!!!

I kind of broke my light today and the worst part of all, my main light. It still works thankfully, but the support part is a bit loose. Well, I hope to replace it soon so I don’t need to worry. I also want to see if I can get a light with adjustable light settings. I just hope I can find one.

The Christmas figure photo shoot is coming to an end soon. As tomorrow is the last one before Christmas here in Canada. I would like to take the time to say HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone!!!

It took a lot of effort but eventually I was able to get her to hold the lollipop right if I used her sparkly eyed face.
