Spring Anime Season 2009

spring-09-v4

I know a lot of people posted what they are going to watch this season. Due to my current exam schedule, I couldn’t find the time for to post this. By this time, around 3 episodes of the new season of anime had been released. There are quite a few I would watch and some I wouldn’t dare watch or even look at. When watching anime, I usually download the raw (I might make MAD/AMV out of them), then I download the subs when they come out. I know raw files/ animemb to 500mb per file). This is why I have a huge hard drives in my desktop(1tb takes up a lot of room (around 300 each). So the space issues are no problem for me.

Most people who are watching this season of anime are most likely watching this anime including me. Judging on how much fanart I’ve seen only being out for three weeks and other stuff, this anime has become highly popular. I find time somehow in my week even though I’m busy as hell to watch this anime. Also most people know that this anime is that this anime is made by Kyoto Animation and is the spirtual sequel to Lucky Star. What I find interesting in this series is that sometimes the characters look like characters from Lucky Star. This is this part in the anime opening that MioKagami in a way. The story is really good and I find myself converting the file so I can watch it on my Iphone looks like when traveling around Toronto. I somehow find myself addicted to this anime like the same way I felt when I watched Lucky Star. What I find more addicting is the ending theme Lazy. Just wow!!! I manage to find the full version of the song and still listen to it!!! I’m having high hopes for coming episodes.

Saki:

Saki is just one of those animes that I’m pretty interested in. I know it’s a game about mahjong. I myself am a mahjong player too. I played a lot of it when I was in high school and was also a member of my high schools mahjong club, but not Japanese style though…sadly. I feel like learning it though. Anyways, the anime makes mahjong pretty exciting and the characters all have personalities that are pretty interesting. I’m currently loving this anime and having high hops for this anime.

Shangri La:

shangri-la1

So far so good. Shangri La is one of those anime that is pretty interesting. What I recognized instantly was the artwork was done by Ken’ichi Yoshida, the artist behind such animes as Eureka 7 and Bounen no Xamdou. Judging the anime that he has done art for, all of them I enjoyed watching. So far so good and pretty exciting. I love the fantasy like world that the series take place in. Also all the characters seem to have their own back stories and such that has yet to be revealed. High hopes, high hopes!!!!!!

Full Metal Alchemist:

I think I’m one of the few people who didn’t even read the manga and one of the few people who didn’t watch the whole anime. I know by saying that some of my friends will kill me. I wasn’t so interested in the anime. I think I watch like 15 episodes and just stopped. I think other series caught my eye and I just forgot to watch it. My friends love this anime and are watching it currently. I watched only one episode so far. What I can say I like so far is that Yui’s song Again for the OP of the anime is pretty good. The episode was alright. I liked the fight scenes and all. What I really noticed is that they changed the voice actors for a few characters. The voice actor for Roy Mustang was changed to the one who does Lockon Stratos in the Gundam 00 series. I immediately recognized that voice so fast and saying, that isn’t Roy’s voice. Either way, it’s wasn’t bad. I hope it gets better as I hear it will.

Other anime I need to finish watching or start watching:

Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ (I think it’s based on a game that was released a long time ago. I played and it’s a lot like a eroge game with the hentai scenes. I’m getting the vibe that it’s in a similar style as anime such as Noir and Madlax or even Black Lagoon. I loved all those anime and can’t wait to watch this one.)

Valkyria Chronicles (I need to watch this anime for sure. The game alone was really good. I’m wondering how they transferred the story of the game to the anime. I’m pretty excited about this anime. I’ll start watching this anime when I my exams are over and done with.)

Tayutama -Kiss on my Deity- ( Cat eared shrine maidens and (Cool or cute) spiritual monsters. Enough said!!!)

Tears to Tiara (Okay, I know it’s from an hentai game, but still, heard a lot of good and bad things about this anime. I want to watch it!!!)

Well, now back to studying for my upcoming exams. After all my exams are done. I promised one a lot more photo shoots and more posts. May is the month of posts and Anime North is in May as well. Going to have coverage on that too!!! I’ll have more information about Anime North 2009 soon. This also reminds me that I’ll have more information on my summer Japan trip and things I’ll do when I’m there aside from Comiket. Enough said, back to studying.

I actually asked myself whether I was allowed to sleep at all during this season. After a preview at my selected titles, I don’t think so…

K-on and Valkyria Chronicles are for sure on my watchlist. As for FMA, I’ll probably wait until next year and marathon the thing.

I recommend getting into Valkyria Chronicles asap. I know I’ve said it many times but I love how they kept the same OST to the game. Looking at other ppls comments in the biosphere, people are currently loving it even though they haven’t played the game with is a good sign. ^^

Surprisingly, Eden of the East has overtaken K-ON as my top choice for the season since it’s simply good, but I still love my KyoAni moe overdose.
