Mikuru Asahina Gekisou

Finally finished the shoot of Mikuru Asahina. Editing the photos took way too long as there were so many problems and such. I finally was able to finish the editing tonight. When doing this, a lot of things got in the way as how the shoot look online compared to my desktop. A lot of redo was needed to get to the point I’m okay with. Well, the shoot is Mikuru Asahina from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. This is the Gekisou version of Mikuru.

I purchased this figure from Hobby Search. I got Mikuru for 7057 yen. I know, with the current exchange rate, it is really expensive but I just have to have the set.

I don’t know why, but I love this pose!!! It’s so Mikuru-like…

Looking closely, Mikuru’s oppai are huge!!!

The fish net is really detailed and even the boots are too!!!

Review of Mikuru Asahina Gekisou Version:

Mikuru Asahina Gekisou Version is by Mac Factory. This is the second figure in the line of 3 Haruhi Suzumiya figures. I do have to say, that Max Factory once again did an amazing job on this figure. I was worried about the pose for a little while but now, not so much. It’s really detailed from top to bottom. The paint is nicely done as well. The overall figure matches the one on the Gekisou poster. I do have to say Max Factory did an amazing job on making this figure from a picture from a poster.

The only negative thing I have to say is that Mikuru is a bit loose. Not to the point it falls off, but just a bit. Not sure if other figures are like that though. Either from that, nothing negative to say. I give it an “A”!!! It’s a must have and I urge people who has Haruhi, get this figure!!! COMPLETE THE SET!!!

Other Thoughts:

This was a pretty frustrating shoot. I felt that her colors just blended into the background a bit too much. I need to use other backgrounds. Then, I’ve got some tips about editing them. So I started editing them and then I realized after I uploaded the photos, the colors where really off. Took a while till I got it right. I had to mess with the settings on my editing program and that took a while to figure out. I also do know it’s not my best shoot. Well, there is still room for improvements and I plan to do a lot more during the summer aside my trip to Japan which I’m thinking of doing an outdoor shoot there. Which figure, not yet decided…

Well, I haven’t been updating much lately. Even though I’m on summer break, I’ve been quite busy with planning as said in my “Been Busy with Planning” post. I’m going to try my best in doing more posts and getting back to an everyday or every other day posting that I used to do before university started.

Been noticing something on your figure posts. When you put the picture here do you resize it? Because the pictures don’t look very sharp unless you click on them to see it on flickr.

hmm for the photos you may need to play around with the color balance to improve the dull color caused by the bright white lights.
