Taste of Asia Festival
Well today, when I was driving around, I remembered that there was a festival that takes place around this time of year. Sadly, I totally forgot my camera at home and don’t want to go through the hell of finding a parking space, which at this time of year, it is almost impossible to find unless you get lucky. Well, I apologize about the bad quality in photos. All I had with me at the time is my Iphone and trust me, I wish my phone was better sometimes.
It was a rainy day and still rained when I arrived. So I headed inside Pacific Mall for a little walk around.
Got some self serve frozen yogurt. Four flavors, you get to mix and match with tons of toppings. Guess which one is mine?
It was really good and for the price I got mine, damn was it good!!! I believe you can only get this at Pacific Mall.
Since the rain stopped, my friends and I went outside to see the Taste of Asia Festival. For people who doesn’t know, Taste of Asia Festival happens every year in late June and takes place beside Pacific Mall on Kennedy Road. They close off part of Kennedy road for this event. This event consist of performances by celebrities of an Asian background and prizes to be won. It also has vendors of an Asian background selling food to people. I must say the food is really good and the prices are great. Most of these are street food but they will fill the stomach without dealing a big blow to your wallet.
Being the last day and I totally forgot about the festival the day before, the festival is filled with people. I can smell all types of food here and they smell good…
Some BBQ. Basically they sell freshly cooked beef, lamb or chicken on a stick for $1.75 CAD. Pretty cheap and it’s my favorite food throughout the festival.
This picture is a bit too dark. I couldn’t adjust the camera settings on my Iphone. This is the time I wish I had my camera.
Vendors at work. Yummy food on a stick being cooked.
I’m currently waiting in line for food. Getting myself some beef and chicken on a stick!!! I love the spices that they use in it!!!
Other types of vendors…
Most of these events have BBQ street food, but even though it’s BBQ, it’s great food!!!
Many folks on the street…
The main stage where performances happen and prizes being given out.
They even sell small pets. Like these little turtles. I believe they were $15 CAD each with a little tank.
Hamsters as well being sold. $15CAD gets you a small adorable hamster with a cage. Sadly I couldn’t buy one as I own cats and my cats might mistake them for mice.
More walking around. So many people enjoying the festival…
BBQ Octopus tentacles anyone?
They also have Japanese food here. I didn’t buy any as I’m going to Japan in 3 weeks and I don’t want to get sick of food. Somehow, I get sick of food pretty easily, if I eat it often that is.
Little small merchandise being sold. Most of it for girls and I see most of it are Hello Kitty.
Getting pretty crowded…
I almost forgot to mention that they also have rides here. Not much that interest me as I went to Wonderland 2 days ago. I’ll post that in a later date.
Snacks ranges from different kinds to fast and easy kinds. Instant noodles anyone?
More BBQ!!!
BBQ vendors at work and man, standing there and watching the vendor BBQing makes me want to do some BBQ…
So full from food…
Well, my friends are the impatient types and don’t like to wonder around for a long period of time. So I left the festival with a full stomach and some okay pictures. I say this, if you in Toronto during the end of June, I suggest you pop by the festival, it’s worth going.

I wanted to go to that but I was busy on both days. T___T
I forgot all about this event until my friend told me. I knew parking would be a pain in the ass and decided not to go.
