Yuki Nagato Gekisou

Meaning to post the shoot yesterday but a huge problem came up. Well, my mouse broke and pretty much it was my only mouse I had and I can’t fix my photos without one. Good thing today I went out and bought a new mouse. Well, after doing a figure pick a few days ago, many of you wanted to see a shoot of Yuki Ngato. Most of the reason is that they haven’t seen one. I think this is by far my smallest shoot as many photos didn’t meet my expectations. I think around 50 photos I took, only 7 photos made it. I’ll say this, Yuki Nagato Gekisou version is a hard figure to do a shoot on with a white background. Well, on to the shoot of Yuki Nagato Gekisou Version.

I got Yuki Nagato Gekishou from Hobby Link Japan for around 7429 yen. I think it’s the few times I order from Hobby Link Japan as I order most of my figures from Hobby Search.

Review on Yuki Nagato Gekisou Version:

This figure was made by Max Factory. The overall pose is well done. The guitar is pretty nice and the strings are actually strings. I say they got her face right on. They even got that pick on Yuki’s right hand. The detail work on Yuki overall is pretty good. Still there are some negative points.

The thing is about this figure is that the paint is too reflective. I have to say it, but it has that shine. As compared to the other 2 in the gekisou series, I have to say that this is my least favorite of the 3 even though Yuki is on of my favs. Sadly, I have to say Max Factory dropped the ball on this figure. I was expecting it to be like the promotional picture but when was a figure like that. I give this figure a “B”. I say if you want to get it to complete the collection, by all means do it, either from that, not many reasons to get it.

Other Thoughts:

This was a hard shoot to do. Like I said, 50 photos were taken and only 7 of them are usable. I think it’s Yuki’s paint, I have to say it, it has that shine to it. I should really learn more techniques and get better lighting. Hopefully, by the time I get back from Japan, I will be able to get way better lighting.

Well, be doing more shoots before I head off to Japan in 3 weeks. I’m going to start something next week that all of you should come check out. I’ll make an announcement at the end of the week and be posting it on my blog and posting on DC aswell.

I can understand why this figure is hard to take some pictures of due to her shiny clothings. Her clothings reflects the light from your camera. At least you were able to get some good shots out of it.
