Comiket Summer 2009 Day 2
A bit late for this post as I was dead tired after Comikt day 2 and basically crashed on the bed and then after waking up rushed out for day 3 of Comiket. Comiket takes a lot out of a person and having little sleep as it is, so I do recommend sleep as much as you can when not lining up cause it’s pretty hard to sleep in this heat.
This is around 6am as I forgot my camera in the hotel room. The good thing about Comiket’s line wait is that after you’re seated, you get to leave the line as long as your stuff stays in the line but you have to be back by 8:30am. Something I noticed while staying in the Comiket line is that Japanese people don’t touch your stuff nor do that steal anything.
I was lucky to be this close up. I was part of the 2:30am to 3:30am group. We are pretty close to the entrance…
There were people ahead of me at this time. I think around 3 lines were ahead of me.
The crowd of people lining up here is pretty big…
The lines that are ahead of my line…
People that came earlier than me. Some of them put out mats and are basically sleeping on the floor…
The line for the washroom…not lining up in that… Basically, it’s an hour wait…
This crowd is small compared to the next photo…
There are a ton of people here, all waiting to get into Comiket.
After the first train comes…all the people comes in and wait in line…
Low on a bit of cash. Went to an ATM at a 7Eleven to refill my cash supply and washroom. Not many people knows about this place so it’s a great place to come if you need to go to the washroom. It’s somewhat like a 5 to 10 minute walk but worth the trip.
Another line is forming…
So many people now… Day 2 is one of the popular day as the doujinshi ranges from yuri to normal to hentai pairings. Also what makes day 2 so popular is Touhou. Touhou is pretty popular in Japan and they have one of the east halls all filled with Touhou. More than half the people in the line are here for either touhou or the official dealers.
This is like an endless wave of people…
Headed back to the line…
The sun comes up and now it gets hot…
Comiket’s fashion statement…everyone wears a towel on their heads…
So many people…
Finally inside… Went to get some important things in the official dealers before heading to the doujin sellers…
The east hall…so many people…
Currently lining up for a CD…
Silver Forest is one of the best doujin music groups around…
Yellow Zebra is not that bad either…,
People resting outside…
The doujinshi area is huge!!!
I want this Remilia Scarlet poster!!!
People walking around and carrying bags…
Since most of my shopping was done, I headed to the cosplay square…
EVA and Gundam00…nice!!!
Touhou group…and I do say this, at least some of them are guys…Yes guys. Crossplaying as a touhou character here is common…really common.
Some Sailormoon cosplays…
Dgrayman cosplays…
Vesperia cosplays!!! Really nice!!!
WOW, Vocaloid cosplays are so nice!!!
FMA cosplays!!!
After that, I couldn’t take much more of this as I was tired and carrying a ton of stuff too.
This is what I was carrying…not good in big crowds with this…and it gets heavy…
There are still people all around here…
People still heading to the official dealers…
The resting area of Comiket…
Last look for the day…
Headed back to Odaiba for some good R&R…
Overall, today was good, not bad. Got a ton of stuff and it was pretty fun. Day 3 coming soon…

The ground’s so clean people can just sit and sleep on it? lol
The good thing with long queues is that you can make friends while you are waiting..
