As promised a photo shoot of a figure. Today shoot is on Banspresto’s Konata Izumi ~Alto cosplay~. The figure is of Lucky Star’s Konata cosplaying as Alto Sa0tome from Macross Frontier. For this shoot, I’m using a completely different color background and trying fabric backgrounds. So far so good, the shoot turned out pretty nice. I’m going to try from now on to have a figure shoot a week if possible. Mostly I’ll follow through with this plan as I need to update my blog often and regularly. I need to get back to the habit. Anyways, on to the shoot.

I got this figure on Ebay along with the set of Lucky Star X Macross Frontier Ichiban Kuji. To most people, the only way of getting this figure is through a lottery thing that is held in Japan. I was lucky enough to see it on Ebay and I quickly bought it. On how I got the set, please go here.

Konata’s tied hair…

Konata actually looks pretty cool at this angle!!!

Looks like Konata can pull off a good Alto.

The bag is nicely detailed!!!

Instead of the SMS logo, it’s the Lucky Star logo!!!

Being flat chested really helped Konata as she is cosplaying Alto (A male character)

Review of Konata Izumi ~Alto Cosplay~:

Konata Izumi ~Alto Cosplay~ is by Banpresto. This is a fantastic figure. The sculpt to the paint was done exceptionally well. You can see the little details such as the little ruffles in the shirt to the details of the bag. Konata’s likeness was also done very well from the fast to the hair. Also, she is the smallest figure of the set, so her height is also represented well. Banpresto did a great job of of making the cosplay Macross Frontier on Konata. I think this figure is one of the few figures that are actually done very well.

There isn’t really negative things to say about this figure. It’s a great figure but hard to get. A small figure that might cost a bit but worth it.

Overall, I give this figure an “A+”. This figure is a must own in any collection. For fans of Lucky Star, it’s a must get, it may cost you a bit nut it’s totally worth the price.

Other Thoughts:

This is my first complete photo shoot using a fabric background. With all my previous shoots, a lot of the photos had some sort of glares or it was too bright. I tried to fix it this time around. The problem was that my background was too reflective as the cardboard I was using keeps reflecting my lights. Thanks to some tips from Len-Vesper, I started using fabric as a background. It worked out very well as the black background absorbed the light and eliminating the reflecting of light. Now, you don’t see bright white on a figure with white paint. Now you actually see the details that are in white.

I think I took a good step forward with this shoot I feel. Now no more glares that had been bothering me since doing figure photo shoots. I think with the new fabric backgrounds, my shoots will improve.

The next shoot, will be Kagami ~Klan Cosplay~. I’ll post the shoot after my midterms which ends at the end of the week. Now back to studying for my midterms.
