Figure Photo Shoot Week Sakura ‘Penguin’ Nankyoku

IMG_0685 [photos]

A bit late with this shoot. I had some problems with my photos that I had originally. They were pretty bad and I had to redo them. I finally finished and the photos were better than the previous batch. Well, back to the Week of Figure Photo Shoot. Today’s figure is Sakura “Penguin” Nankyoku. Penguin is from the anime Penguin Musume. Penguin is basically an otaku with a special power. Whenever she cosplays as someone, she obtains the abilities of that outfit. Since she grew up on anime and manga, this had led her to have an erratic and slightly perverted personality. Some people might ask why she is called Penguin. It’s due to her penguin like hairstyle and her sur name meaning south pole. Well, on to the shoot.

Review of Sakura “Penguin” Nankyoku:

Alter did a really lovely job on Penguin. The details on Penguin is stunning. Small details like the ruffles of the apron to the details in the hair makes her stand out. Here major selling point is with the combination of her face and her pose. That sold me into getting her (also the price as well during the time I was in Japan). The paint on the figure is also well done. Here overall pose somewhat represents Penguin’s cheerful personality. Her face just attracts it’s views into looking and buying her.

My overall mark for this figure is 9/10. Extremely solid and detailed figure. Must own.

Other Thoughts:

4 down now. I know I’m a bit late posting this. The previous batch of photos were really bad. I had to redo it and only had time today to do it. The problem is that I have to wait till it gets dark to do another shoot. I’m pretty satisfied with these photos. Well, another shoot will come soon in this week of figure photo shoots!!!~

Alter did an awesome job with the realization of Sakura and the only beef that Im having with this figure is how her left hand is tilted and that her hair could have used some more details. The way it is now it reminds me too much of a lump of hair.It works in 2D but looks not so good in 3D

I agree at times that some characters are meant to stay 2D but still, it’s a solid figure.

I like this version but I prefer GSc’s adaptation, more sweet with her adorable yukata. Alter made a amazing job with hair ^^ And the base is sweety!
