It’s that time of year again where I post my favorites of the year and my spending of 2009. Every year I spend a lot this year. I think I spent more than double than last year considering that a certain trip this year equals to the amount that I spent last year. It was a fun year either way and full of memorable moments in my life as an all around otaku. 2009 had some hits and misses. There were great moments like going to Japan for month to meeting Danny to hanging around Toronto with friends. Overall to me, 2009 was a great year!!!

Same as last year, cause I don’t really calculate food cost because it is just too hard to calculate since I tend to forget what I ate a week ago and such. Otaku goods would include games, figures, magazines and so on. Anything related to anime goods. Also I want to talk about what are my picks of 2009. What are the best anime of 2009, the best manga, the best figure and so on…

Okay, I completely doubled last years spending. Most of these spending happened during 3 months. These 3 months are when conventions happened and when I went on my second trip to Japan. I know most people will go “WTF” on this total but it’s true. I really overdid it. I think I should tone down on the spending a bit and save up for my 3rd trip to Japan. I plan on going again for Comiket 78 and going to Japan for a week or 2, If I can, I would go to Wonfes too. I haven’t officially planned anything yet, but I hope I will be able to go. Right now, after looking at the total, I should spend less and only spend a bit more during conventions. Also, aside from spending so much money on stuff, I should spend more time improving the blog. I plan to with the current new layout I’m still working on. Be out this week with a photo shoot.

My picks of 2009. Well, a lot of things happened this year in 2009 that were so memorable.

My pick for Best Anime of 2009: K-On!

Most people expect this. I loved K-On. What sealed the deal for me is that the music is awesome. I know some people might go Bakamonogatari would be the best, but K-On to me is the best. Don’t get me wrong, Bakamongatari is one of the best animes I’ve ever watched, but K-On beats it by just a bit.

My pick for Best Game of 2009: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

I bet it’s a lot of people’s favorite game. I am still playing it and online is just too fun!!! I just get the feeling I should keep playing as I now play at least an hour a day.

My pick for Best Figure of 2009: Black Rock Shooter

This is one of the best figures that came out. Black Rock Shooter this year have seen many delays and it’s finally here just before the year ends. I’ve seen it in person before it was released thanks to Tokyo Figure Show and the Good Design Party that was in Tokyo when I went to Japan this year. Now that I have it, it’s just an amazing and eye catching figure!!!

My pick for Best Convention of 2009: Comiket 76

Going to Japan again for Comiket is just wow. What make this Comiket more memorable is that I went with friends. Comiket is more fun and you get more done with friends helping you as some would say, it’s impossible to get everything by yourself.

My pick for Best Movie/ Film of 2009: Kara no Kyokai (The last movie)

When in Japan this year, I had the chance to watch the last Kara no Kyokai movie. I had to say it was an amazing movie. It was really nice and I was glad to experience a Japanese theater.

Well, I have many of thoughts of 2009. Being that this blog is one year old, I hope to see it grow and become even better in the near future. Also, another great point is that I was able to meet Danny during this trip to Japan.

That was one of the greatest moments ever during my trip in Japan. I had a great time and was great to meet Danny!!!

Also while on the subject, going to Japan for a month was just so fun. I was able to explore Japan more and went to places I’ve never had been before. Also, meeting otakus and going to Comiket was great!!!

It was great meeting everyone and that we all survived Comiket was great. Also I think I should start wearing shirts that were my size…I should wear a large not an XL… Anyways, I had a great time with everyone and I hope to see you all again!!!

I think I should make a yearly trip to Japan during the summer, that would be great. Also, being that somewhat ever since Japan, I’ve been known on DC for buying loot. I mean, I currently have the biggest loot post ever on blogs. Maybe I should continue to post loot for the year too!!! Another thing that would be memorable is that I’m more willing to do cosplays and have people take pictures of me. I think this is due to see all those wonderful cosplays in Japan and at conventions. It makes me wanting to put more effort in doing my cosplays. I think my friend and I will enter the second volume of Otacool which is based on cosplays this time. Well, nothing is official yet as my friend and I are currently still figuring out how to make some cosplays.

I think in 2010 you all will see more posts done by me and more figure shoots. I think I should add an extra author as one of my friends want to start blogging and being a guest blogger on my blog would be a good start. Well, that somewhat takes some load off my hands when I am overloaded with school stuff. I’m going to have some site changes and a new layout in 2010. I’m hoping KA will continue to a distant future!!!
