Hong Kong Day 2: Mong Kok

Spent most of the day at Mong Kok today. My friends took me out and showed me some stores around Mong Kok. Mong Kok I think is known for it’s many shops and malls. There are a ton of small to big stores around here. This post took a while to write due to the fact the internet sucks a lot. Can’t wait to go to Tokyo where the internet is awesome!!! I feel this post is somewhat rushed as I’m writing this before I head out again for Day 3. I hope day 3’s post will be better…

Started the day heading to the subway station…

Apparently there are these escalators in these passage ways that leads almost everywhere in Hong Kong…

A long passage way towards the subway station…

Just like Japan, Hong Kong has a similar transportation system…

Heading to Jordan station to meet up with some friends…

Outside of the station waiting for my friends to arrive. They were late…

Hong Kong’s Engrish…

Grabbed some food…cause all of us were hungry…

Heading down to the train station to head to Mong Kok…

Arrived there and started to walk around…

Fortress, one of Hong Kong’s premier electronic stores!!!

Shopping malls in Hong Kong are everywhere. It’s just that unlike here in Canada, it’s hidden.

Inside is pretty small but have a lot of great stuff. Great for window shopping…

We walked around…

Found a few stores or mostly an entire mall all about Japanese music and anime. There are a ton of places with bootleg stuff. I did buy something but I watched what I bought… Also, since I’ll be heading to Tokyo in a few days, not going to go crazy here… I’ll go all out spending in Japan…

Did buy a Dengeki Festival though…

Since I went there around noon, nothing was open. So my friends and I wondered around for an hour or so until all the stores were opened.

Is it me or did it just get more crowded…

There was a lot of people at Mong Kok. I have to be careful in crowds like this. Hong Kong is relatively safe but watch out for thieves…

At McDonalds and they have once again a Hello Kitty promotion…

Went back to the anime mall.

Went clothes shopping and I have to say wow!!! Clothes are cheap and they look so nice!!!

Left that mall to head to another mall…

Crowded road…

That’s some serious skills!!!

Another small place that sells figures, model kits and things in between…I even saw a doujinshi store too!!!

It started to rain again, so we ran to the station…

Headed to Langham Place…

Since it was raining…a huge crowd of people appeared with the same intentions…get out of the rain…

Inside Langham Place…

Went to get some dinner… In Hong Kong, it’s a battle to get a table if you want to eat…

Got some Pepper Lunch… I miss this so badly!!!

L’Arc~en~Ciel on the big screen!!!

Langham Place has a total of 15 floors plus 2 basement floors…total of 17 floors… This a tall mall…

It’s a long way down…

A small entertainment place…pretty fun and won a ton of prizes…

Going down the escalator…the long escalator…after a day of fun.

Decided to call it a day so my friend and I headed back to the hotel…

Had some nice pastries that I bought at Langham Place…

One mango cake and a Strawberry cake!!! It was really good!!! Well, day 2 comes to an end. Going to rest up and get ready for day 3…

That’s not Engrish… That’s just the supermarket’s name, “Wellcome” lol. And yeah, Japanese music is popular enough for it to be shown as if it was local mainstream music even though people don’t know what they’re singing most of the time. Quite a lot of Thai music of late too, though.

Where’s this little place with the “Models, Gifts, Figures” sign? Don’t think I’ve come across it before. Might try to find it next time or you could give me the GPS coordinates from your iPhone, lol.
