Back with another photo shoot and this time is Good Smile Company’s Yuri Nakamura from Angel Beats! For a few days now, I’ve been busy with a ton of stuff lately from FanExpo coming up to real life stuff with friends and family. All that equals to less time for the blog. I still manage to at least do a post a week but I want to do at least two posts a week. Lately it’s been my FanExpo plans that eats up most of my time as this year as many of you know I’m going to be an exhibitor. Meaning that I’m working at FanExpo as a dealer and selling anime goodies. I won’t go into what or how to make a small anime store and to keep it going, as this isn’t about FanExpo. This is about a figure photo shoot of Yurippe!!!

Review of Yuri “Yurippe” Nakamura:

Good Smile took a stab at making Yurippe of SSS. Yuri “Yurippe” Nakamura is from the popular anime series Angel Beats! All in all, the overall design works well with the figure. The amount of detailing that went into making this figure is impressive. I believe that the details on the SSS uniform that she wears makes the figure stands out for me and to me, the main selling point of the figure. I like how GSC did a lot of small detailing work on the figure too. For example, her Beretta 92 that she is holding in her hands is detailed nicely and looks exactly like the Beretta used in the show. Also, same goes for the small SSS logo on her uniform which is also done nicely minus the actual words in the logo. The overall colors used on the figure is perfectly done and matches the character from the show pretty well. Overall, the figure is pretty good. The people over at Good Smile did a great job on this figure of Yurippe.

Like with many figures out in the market today, there are problems that some people have with them. The main problem I have with this figure is the smile on Yurippe’s face. It just doesn’t suit Yurippe or the figure at all. I just don’t know how to explain it, it just doesn’t fit. To me, it brings the figure down and would had been better if it wasn’t for that small part of the figure.

My overall rating for this figure is 7/10. The figure is good but it’s just the smile ruins it for most of the part. This is still worth your buck for any collectors or for fans of the show.

Other Thoughts:

Been so busy lately that I barely have any time whatsoever to do any shoots at all. I finally got some time to make one and the photos came out okay. I know I can do better but with limited resources, you do want you can.

I recently also began having trouble picking a figure for a photo shoot. It’s just me being picky to try to find a good figure that I want to do a photo shoot with. I have a ton and yet, I can’t make up my mind in picking a figure to take pics with. I hope this issue will solve itself sooner or later. I might be less picky for the next shoot or maybe not…

As I said above, I’ve been really busy with my offline life. The main reason is cosplay and FanExpo being a week away. I do plan on doing a huge coverage post on FanExpo and the 4 days of the convention. I think it’s the first time for me to actually attend 4 straight days of a convention. Also, to my knowledge this is the first 4 day convention in Canada. FanExpo, known for attracting over 70000 people every year, it’s a great opportunity to work as an exhibitor and take many pictures at the event. I hope everything goes well. I also believe for sure I’ll post something before I head out to FanExpo for 4 days!!!
